Smart (V1G) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) charging specialist
CrowdCharge has extensive experience both with smart V1G charging and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging. We introduced the first single phase V2G unit to the UK, and are now already working with multiple single and three-phase V2G units in both domestic and non-domestic settings.
CrowdCharge will be introducing Vehicle to Grid (V2G) charging in the near future as part of its app development, which will be used on the new Electric Nation Vehicle to Grid project.
V2G has the opportunity to generate revenue for EV owners by selling energy back to the grid at times of peak demand. Sources suggest that using V2G could give an EV owner income of £500 per year.
CrowdCharge has already been proven with 350 EV users on the three-year Electric Nation smart charging trial, giving real-world insight into drivers’ behaviours and attitudes towards smart charging, and we have now launched the next phase Electric Nation Vehicle to Grid alongside other CrowdCharge projects – find out more
The concept for CrowdCharge came about due to the needs of our sister company DriveElectric, an EV leasing company. We realised there were some major challenges with the energy system, and ensuring our customers could always charge their cars as the numbers of EVs are due to rise was important. CrowdCharge is now working across sectors to deliver a solution that can help us achieve wider EV adoption.
